CHELSEA BOWDEN
Since 2023 I have been an assistant professor of philosophy at Denison University.
My research focuses on ancient Greco-Roman philosophy, and specifically the Stoics and the Pyrrhonian Skeptics. I am particularly interested in questions about whether the philosophies of the ancient world are practicable today and to what extent these ancient philosophies can benefit our psychological wellbeing. I also have research interests in contemporary epistemology, particularly in ethics of belief and virtue epistemology.
Prior to being hired at Denison University, I completed my PhD in philosophy at the University of Kansas and my MA in Greek and Latin from the Ohio State University.
